MELS Shilajit

We are always on the lookout for foods and supplements that can give us more energy, better health and live longer with as much quality as possible. Shilajit is one such remedy, densely packed with nutrients made from nature’s own recipe of power and vitality. Shilajit is an Ayurvedic word meaning “conquer of mountains – destroyer of weakness”.

What is Shilajit?

Shilajit is an organic compound from the Himalayan treasure trove, but is also found in other high mountains such as the Rocky Mountains, the Andes and the Alps. It is a concentrated biomass consisting of accumulated plant material, microorganisms and rock mass in the form of minerals and metals.

This organic material undergoes a fermentation process, where the biomass is broken down over thousands of years by microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria in the absence of oxygen. Through this process, the pulp absorbs minerals from the rock, giving Shilajit a concentrated and potent composition of minerals, trace elements and other nutrients.

The biomass is pressed between the rock layers in the mountain and matures over thousands of years. Under high pressure, combined with the natural chemical reactions, the mass condenses into a jelly-like resin that literally oozes out of the rock when the temperature rises in summer.

MELS Shilajit is a 100% pure natural product of the highest quality. We are in direct contact with mining families in the Himalayas and Altai Mountains who have been collecting Shilajit for generations, and the product is imported directly from them.

What does Shilajit consist of?

Shilajit contains a number of important minerals such as magnesium, potassium, selenium, calcium, folic acid and iron and up to 80 other natural minerals. In addition, you’ll find the biologically active and powerful fulvic acid, which has millions of beneficial bacteria, and a molecular composition that contributes to easier absorption of vitamins and minerals.

What is Shilajit used for?

Shilajit has a long history of use in Indian natural medicine, known as Ayurveda. Shilajit has proven useful for a variety of conditions and is considered a versatile dietary supplement for the body and mind. Among other things, it is used for healing injuries, lack of energy and stress management, cognitive function (such as concentration and memory), fertility, increased libido (sexual desire) and strengthening the immune system.

Other useful information about shilajit

Shilajit comes in 4 unique forms based on gold, silver, copper or iron which is the black one we are most familiar with. All of them contain certain minerals and chemical compounds that are beneficial to health. The first people to discover the properties of shilajit were Indians who practiced ancient Ayurvedic medicine.

Shilajit can help restore the body’s mineral and electrolyte balance so that enzyme reactions and energy metabolism can function optimally. Electrolytes are ionic compounds that are necessary for many physiological processes in the body, including nerve impulses, muscle contractions and cell communication

Shilajit’s ionic compounds are more easily metabolized in the body due to their high solubility in water. The electrostatic forces between the ions and water molecules make it easier for them to dissolve in body fluids, such as blood and extracellular fluids.

How to use shilajit?

If you are using shilajit for the very first time, MELS recommends that you start with 0.5 to 1 gram (the size of a grain of rice). Feel free to use the end of a teaspoon to scrape out.

Bring water to the boil, allow it to cool slightly before adding the dose and stir until dissolved. Drink as a tea or other hot drink.

Take shilajit on an empty stomach in the morning as it stimulates the metabolism/metabolism and helps the body get rid of waste products.

Since shilajit increases your energy levels, it is not recommended to use shilajit before bedtime.

We recommend using shilajit for 6-8 weeks, then taking a 1 week break and feeling the changes in your body.

When should caution be exercised when using Shilajit?

Although Shilajit is a safe product that has traditionally been used for a variety of health purposes, there are conditions and situations where Shilajit should be used with care.
